“It’s your river. We protect it.” For the past 26 years, the Russian Riverkeeper organization has devoted themselves to restoring and protecting the Russian River. The 3rd Annual Ripp’n River Bash, hosted at Healdsburg’s Front Porch Farm, is the largest fundraiser that supports the RRK’s projects. Their mission is to inspire the community to care for the river. This includes volunteering for annual trash cleanups and working on the floodplain restoration to help local fish and birds.
We drew our menu inspiration from this year’s event theme which was “Country Picnic on the Farm”. The family-style menu started with an Heirloom tomato salad that included mixed basils, white pepper, coriander pesto, Cabécou and sherry vinaigrette. Next, came the entrée of Buttermilk fried chicken, Cabernet braised beef brisket, curry coleslaw, roasted green beans, mashed potato salad & biscuits. To finish, our dessert menu featured made from scratch banana puddings, sea salt chocolate chip cookies and platters of seasonal fruit, including Front Porch Farms Obsidian Blackberries.
