Closed door restaurants are a prominent and inspiring fixture on the Buenos Aires dining scene. From a communal table in a chef’s home to a nine course tasting menu in a converted 19th century house, these dining spots vary greatly in style, price, setting and cuisine. The common thread is simple – a set menu created by the chef for the number of guests that book in advance.
Ilatina is run by three Colombian siblings and is hailed as one of the city’s best dining experiences. It did not disappoint. Warm hospitality, inventive flavors and visually artful presentation made this one of the best meals we have had in recent memory.
